Ephesians 2:1-10
You were dead in your sins with no vigor to spare,
Being led by the prince of the power of the air.
He’s the spirit at work in the masses who stray,
With whom all of us walked when we chose our own way.
We allowed carnal passions to dictate our path
And like everyone else, we were children of wrath,
But our God is so rich with His mercy and love
That He made us alive and has raised us above.
We were dead in our sins, but He saved us by grace,
And He set us with Christ in a heavenly place.
In the ages to come, His great kindness He’ll show
And the riches of grace in Christ Jesus bestow.
For by grace you’ve been saved, not by something you’ve done.
It’s a gift that God gives that your works haven’t won,
And not anything else that your efforts achieved
Give a reason to boast, for by faith it’s received.
We’re created in Christ. We’re the work of God’s hands,
Enabled to walk in the way He commands
And to do the good works He’s awakened us to,
Which He planned long before that in Christ we should do.
