The Savior paid my ransom price,
He gave His life for me.
He shed his blood in sacrifice
To set the sinner free.
I’m free from all that dragged me down
And tied me to the earth.
No more in deathly bondage bound,
I see a second birth.
I’m free, but I am not my own,
By God the Spirit sealed,
I now belong to Him alone;
To Him my members yield.
My body that was once enslaved
To passion and excess,
By Christ and His atonement saved,
Now yields to righteousness.
I taste the pardon I’ve received,
Partaking of its power,
But full possession’s not achieved
Until a coming hour.
Redemption has been paid in full,
And yet creation groans
For Christ to come and claim the whole
That rightfully He owns.
The blessings His redemption brought
The eye of faith discerns,
But all the benefits He bought
Will come when Christ returns.
