Hey friends! Tonight I am going to cover a subject that has become very popular in prophecy circles in the past few years, the shroud of Turin.
The difficulty with this subject is widespread failure to examine both sides of the debate. Many have read books or watched videos presenting a well-oiled argument that the shroud is the actual burial cloth of Jesus, which they found convincing. But they haven’t examined, at least not carefully, the evidence that calls the common proofs into question.
This will not be an exhaustive treatment of the subject, but merely an introduction that will cross examine some of the common proofs and will point out some of the evidence which challenges the belief that it is the actual burial cloth of Jesus.
Bear in mind that this is not a fundamental doctrine of the faith. Nonetheless, it is an issue that manifests how we handle debates and evidence.
