Are we supposed to take the phrase “three days and three nights” as a technical statement or an idiomatic statement? Was Jesus in the grave a full 72 hours or merely one whole day and parts of two others? How are we supposed to answer this question? Will we answer it with “it is written again” or with a cool theory and gee-whiz arguments?
