Hope in Your God

Psalm 42

Deer pant for waterways,
      I for my God,
Panting with eagerness,
      I for my God.
Thirst for the Living One,
      When will I meet with Him?
Hope in your God.

Tears have been food for me,
      Day after day,
While men have taunted me,
      Day after day,
Asking me where He is,
      Where God my Savior is,
Hope in your God.

How I remember it,
      Praise from my soul,
Going to festivals,
      Praise from my soul,
Leading the multitude,
      Gladness and gratitude,
Hope in your God.

Why be disquieted?
      Sing, oh my soul!
Why yield to strain within?
      Sing, oh my soul!
Praise will be mine again,
      More than it’s ever been,
Hope in your God.

I will remember Him,
      Deep calls to deep,
Roaring of waterfalls,
      Deep calls to deep,
Breakers go over me,
      God is still good to me,
Hope in your God.

Sure is His love to me,
      Songs in the night,
Praying with questioning,
      Songs in the night,
Feeling forgotten now,
      Yet to His will I bow,
Hope in your God.

God’s my security,
      Wounds in my bones,
Flanked by the enemy,
      Wounds in my bones,
Taunting me day and night,
     Soul, don’t you yield the fight,
Hope in your God.

Why be cast down, my soul?
      Hope in your God.
Why let this turmoil reign?
      Hope in your God.
He is so good to you.
      Faithful is He and true,
Hope in your God.
